Coming Soon: The Atlanta Steampunk Exposition
I was recently rifling through my drawers trying to find my instant rum gun when I was surprised to find a gear-bedecked pin with “ASE1 2017” stamped into the metal. The pin was attached to a card which read “Atlanta Steampunk Exposition 1” and featured a link to the website AtlantaSteampunkExposition.com – and suddenly everything clicked into place.
The pin had been a gift from me old airship pal Bill Bill, a famous steamboat man if ever there was one!
Being that I myself am a bit of a pioneer in the modern steamboat movement (do you recall my release of the rPhone™ in 2007 or the rPlank™ in 2011?) I am committed to helping to spread the word about things what run on steam, including this new cool weather con. I especially believe in the role that small cons play in fandom and the importance of the three C’s (corsets, cleavage, and consent).
This convention will run from November 17th through November the 19th at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria, which is still accepting reservations via the ASE website. The event will feature panels on everything from dyeing cloth and leather to making mead. Celebrities from the world of steampunk will be making a special guest appearance, and no steamboat event is complete without music by The Extraordinary Contraptions and Gin Rebellion!
Have no doubts: this is going to be some serious fun so don’t wait too late to buy your ticket!
